In the State of Michigan, if a person is works for a company, has access to company's money or
funds, and uses the company's money or funds for personal use, then he or she may be charged with
embezzlement. If the amount is question is between the amounts of $1,000.00 and $20,000.00,
then the person may be charged with a felony offense which carries a maximum penalty of up to 5
years in prison and a fine of $10,000.00 or 3 times the amount taken, whichever is greater.
