Sadly, sex abuse is reported each and every day of the year. These horrific events take place all across America, from large cities like Phoenix, Arizona to small towns such as Chester, New York. It was in this sleepy Upstate New York hamlet that a long-haul truck driver was arrested for sexually abusing his two step-daughters, aged 13 and 16, during the past four years.
The truck driver, a 43-year-old registered sex offender from Southern California, would take his step-daughters along with him on truck trips in California, Nevada, and Arizona where the sex assaults were reported to have taken place. He is being charged with two counts of continual sexual abuse, one count of lewd acts upon a child, and one count of forcible rape. What’s more, the elder daughter told deputies that her father was the father of her 13-month-old child.
As if the abuse of two innocent girls wasn’t enough, the mother of the two children was found to be complicit in the sex crimes. Apparently, she was totally aware of what had been going on and still allowed her daughters to go on these road trips with her husband. The mother is being charged with one count of child abuse and was expected to be arraigned on Monday in Victorville, the small town in San Bernardino County where the family resides.
Authorities are seeking the truck driver’s extradition to California. He was arrested on a $1 million warrant at a warehouse where he had arrived for a trucking job and was being held in Orange County, New York, according to a sex crime attorney familiar with the case.
