Can I Avoid a Felony Conviction For Possessiing a Single Pill?

I am an 18 year old college student and was recently pulled over for my left headlight being out. The cops searched my car and found 1 Provigil pill which is an attention deficit disorder pill to help me study for school. I am not prescribed this pill so it is a Schedule IV narcotic charge, which is a felony. I don't want a felony because I have a strong desire to pursue a professional career. Is there any way I can get my charge lowered to a misdemeanor?

Will I Be Treated as a Minor or Adult at Age 17?

I'm 17 and I was caught "shoplifting" an $8 dollar lighter. However the court date is 12/15/09, and I turn 18 on 11/02/09. I'm terrified that it will count as an adult crime and it will be on my permanent record. Will I be considered a minor or adult?

Can Bail Release Include a Requirement of House Arrest?

My son was arrested on drug charges. His bail was set at $250,000 the lowered to $100,000. We were finally able to come up with 10% and posted bail. We are now told that instead of him being out on bail, he will be placed under house arrest. How is that possible? Please explain. Thank you.
