An Injunction proceeding is civil and is not a criminal proceeding.  Civil injunction proceedings are very serious and have serious consequences and implications.  You should not attend an injunction hearing without first consulting with an attorney who is experienced in handling injunction hearings.  You should hire that attorney to attend the hearing with you!!! At all costs, DO NOT attend your injunction hearing alone!!  In an injunction hearing, the Court has a wide range of discretion in granting or not granting relief to the Petitioner based upon the facts that are specific to each case.  The Petitioner's burden of proof is relatively simple to acheive.  The Court is only looking to determine whether the Petitioner has been the victim of domestic violence, or whether there is reasonable cause to believe that the Petitioner will become the victim of domestic violence.  There are different types of injunctions in Florida and these are ALL VERY SERIOUS PROCEEDINGS THAT CAN AFFECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY INDEFINITELY INTO THE FUTURE!!!  If you are faced with attending an injunction hearing, call Attorney A.
