In what seems to be the same old story, told over and over again since the 1970’s, there are major problems between Mexico and the U.S as it pertains to the drug war. Drug trafficking and Phoenix drug distribution continue to eat up critical resources, time and money – as well as lives, in order to fight the problem, which seems to never go away. It puts into question our entire method for battling the issue.
In recent news, violence resulting from the drug trade has increased on both sides of the border. Some of this is due to the ban on assault weapons that was lifted in 2004. We are now paying the price for all the people who were able to buy these weapons in the U.S.
In recent months, President Obama has increased border security and is trying to uncover new methods to cut off the flow of weapons and drugs. But, we also need to help Mexico deal with the complexities of the drug trade. It does need to be a mutual, concerted effort in order to make an impact.
The U.S. Department of Justice says that Mexican drug gangs are the "biggest organized crime threat to the U.S.," and indicate that 90 percent of all cocaine sold in the U.S and most of the meth too comes from Mexico.
If you are a law abiding citizen and are dealing with an unfounded Phoenix drug manufacturing charge, our attorneys can help. You shouldn’t face a charge if you are innocent. We will fight for you.
